Customs Union to attract investments to non-primary sector of economy: U.Shukeyev"The establishment of the Customs Union will attract investments to non-primary sectors of the economy", First Vice Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Umirzak Shukeyev said Friday during his interview.
According to him, the country attracted over USD 100 bln direct investments during last years.
"Today our main purpose is to attract direct foreign investments and investments as whole to the non-primary sectors of the economy", he said. These are the chemical industry, petrochemical industry, engineering, light, food industries, agro-industrial complex.
"We need a bigger market for it", U.Shukeyev said. According to him, any company wishing to launch production in our country estimates the market potential. "Everything is ok in our country - stable political regime, liberal economic legislation. But the companies facing a narrow market - there are only 16 mln people in the country - can't decide to invest to it", the First Vice Premier said.
"The fact that we promote the integration ideas and extension of the economic space around us is a pragmatic approach. In this regard, our people should know that the Customs Union, the Single Economic Area will benefit everyone", U.Shukeyev said.
