„NUR OTAN“ proposes to adopt a Law on Leader of Nation
„We propose to discuss the option of adoption of the Constitutional Law on Leader of Nation with involvement of broad experts‘ circle. In this law should be defined all moments and other factors concerning the status of head of state. In this case the norms of his lifelong presidency could be prescribed” is being said today by the first deputy party chairman Darkhan Kaletaeyv at the briefing in Astana.
Last Thursday, September 10, the proposal to delegate Nursultan Nazarbayev by the authority to lifelong presidency was sounded by Aktobe history professor Zakratdin Baidosov. The constitution was changed in May 2007 to allow Nazarbaev to run for an unlimited number of presidential terms.
The next presidential elections in Kazakhstan are due to take place in 2012.
