Electric railway connects Xinjiang and Kazakhstan

The first electric train in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region left Jinghe county in northwest Xinjiang at 11:00 in the morning on Friday, bound for the town of Horgos, on the Chinese border with Kazakhstan, according to a report from cnr.cn.

 

 

 

 

The electric railway will play an important role in transportation to Kazakhstan, the cnr.cn report said, and Kazakhstan has also announced a plan to build railways to link up with the Xinjiang railway.
